Grand Theft Auto 6 Dream Protagonists Are Being Created By Fans - Screen Rant

It's unknown when, but Grand Theft Auto 6 is almost certainly on the way. Details on Rockstar's next entry in the open-world crime franchise are incredibly scarce. Given Rockstar hasn't even officially acknowledged the existence of the game, there's only rumors to gather info from and those may not even be real. Given this lack of info, many fans have simply begun dreaming up their own ideas for Grand Theft Auto 6.

Leaks have indicated that the unconfirmed Grand Theft Auto 6 may take inspiration from Netflix's original series, Narcos. Whether or not that pans out to be true remains to be seen, but it aligns with a lot of rumors and speculation that Rockstar will return to Vice City for its next game, something that many have been yearning for. Given this current hypothetical fantasy for GTA 6, fans have been imagining what kind of character will inhabit this new version of Vice City. Given how beloved Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Ray Liotta's Tommy Vercetti are, it's a tough act to follow, but there are some compelling character concepts.

It's unclear how far along Grand Theft Auto 6 is, but one has to imagine Rockstar has plotted out its main characters. Nonetheless, that didn't stop Reddit user travoxe from asking other users to describe their picturesque protagonist for the next GTA. Some just want Tommy Vercetti to return, others have full character bios at the ready. User Theaussieraccoon listed six varying characters, some directly connected to others, but the most interesting one was a female undercover FIB agent in Los Santos who gets transferred to Vice City to investigate a rapidly growing case of drug and gun smuggling. It's a bit of a Sleeping Dogs-like story, but would be a great spin on the series and finally introduce the first female protagonist for Grand Theft Auto.

A number of other users also suggested some variation on cops or government agents. Depending on how its handled, it could make for engaging social commentary and make for a timely story if done appropriately. User rockstarburnerphone just plainly stated they'd love to see Tim Roth's character from Pulp Fiction, which admittedly sounds pretty fitting for the series. There's also a strong appetite for Hispanic or simply non-white characters in Grand Theft Auto 6, which would be more than welcomed.

The series has tackled black characters like CJ and Franklin before and Luis from The Ballad of Gay Tony was Dominican, but it would be great to see even more diversity. It's not clear when Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming, but it's clear fans are hungry for details as to what the story will entail.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will undeniably be a massive game and it would be great to see Rockstar use that platform for a smart and interesting take on the series. Rockstar is no stranger to addressing controversial points in history, including the LA riots in the early 90s. As a series, Grand Theft Auto has always been satirical and makes efforts to expose issues in America, so perhaps there's a chance to do that with diverse new characters in Grand Theft Auto 6.
