WORCESTER, Mass. - Worcester community leaders and residents rally against what they say are hazardous emissions from a local auto body shop on Monday.
Worcester Common Ground says DAMD Auto Body has expanded their Piedmont Street business over the past several years. They say overwhelming fumes coming from the business are impacting people who live nearby.
Neighbors say they are unable to open their windows and are afraid to let their kids play outside.
Worcester Common Ground says DAMD was mandated to install a new filtration system and exhaust stack to mitigate the smell and existence of the fumes.
The situation was referred back to court because of inaction by DAMD owners.
