Several Green Country law enforcement agencies are looking for a person of interest in a multi-county auto theft ring.
The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is looking for 22-year-old Morgan Shaffer, who is known to be in areas east of the Illinois River between Pumpkin Hollow and Chewey in Western Adair County.
Deputies say cars are being stolen from the northeastern portion of Cherokee Country, the western portion of Adair County and the southeastern portion of Delaware County.
They say each agency has taken an unusually high number of auto theft reports and they have recovered several stolen cars.
The agencies are also encouraging people who live in those areas to lock their cars
