Auto Show at Rosebush 4th of July Celebration brings community members together - The Morning Sun

Community members come out to view classic cars at the Rosebush 4th of July Celebration.

The Rosebush 4th of July Celebration for 2021 took place from Friday, July 2 to Sunday, July 4.

One of the events included during the weekend included a Classic Auto Show which went from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Participants in the show could receive a ticket to the pig roast as well as join the 4th of July parade. Door prizes were also randomly drawn throughout the parade.

One of the cars featured at show included a couple 1956 Ford F100 trucks which are both owned by Kirk Miller.

“My dad’s been going to a lot of different cars shows,” Kirk’s son, Brady Miller said.

The cars were bought in Florida at an auction and were in good shape from the start.

Another car featured at the show was a 1973 Ford Bronco that was owned by Thom Clute.

Clute found the car sitting next to a shed on Baseline Road in 2013. The car was in need of a lot of work and Clute has been able to work on the custom frame and the engine among other things.

“We’ve taken it for trail rides, to the sand dunes, and driven it around during the winter,” Clute said.

A 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 was also featured at the Auto Show, which happened to be owned by Mary Wheeler. She found it 4 years ago at an estate auction.

“Not much work was needed,” Wheeler said. “It was pretty well taken care of.”

Wheeler has been coming to the Auto Show for years, as has Sherry Langlois who brought a 1964 and 1967 Ford Galaxie 500 to the show.

Langlois’s husband found one of the cars in a car magazine that was advertising an auction in Missouri which they drove to as soon as they could. The other car was given to Wheeler 5 years ago as an anniversary present.

The 67′ vehicle was in relatively good condition while the 64′ was a work in progress. Both cars are now in good condition though do need maintenance from time to time.

“We do monthly up keep and try to make sure they’re always safe to drive,” Langlois said.
