The following items were taken from area police reports and releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Arrest
Ryan Lee, 40, of the 5800 block of West Lake Street, Chicago, on Nov. 9 was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of disorderly conduct when he was observed attempting to get into parked cars in the 100 block of Taylor Avenue, police said. A further investigation found he also committed burglaries to autos on Oct. 25 in the 100 block of Taylor and again on Nov. 7 in the 200 block of Harvey Avenue, according to police.
Rhamon Conner, 18, of the 100 block of North Pine Street, Chicago, on Nov. 4 was charged with armed robbery and possession of a stolen auto after Oak Park police detectives saw him getting into a car that had been stolen Nov. 1 from the 400 block of Harvey Avenue, police said. The armed robbery took place on Nov. 1 in the 200 block of Washington Boulevard, police said. The car and the proceeds from the robbery that had been recovered were returned to the victim, police said.
Burglary
No loss was reported Nov. 9 when a man forced open the drive-thru window on the south side of Buona Beef, 7025 W. North Ave., at around 11:18 p.m. on Nov. 9, kicked open the office door and ransacked the room. The offender got out through the rear door. Damage was estimated at $100.
An estimated $2,000 worth of alcohol was reported stolen Nov. 5 when two men got into a back room where the liquor is stored at Jewel-Osco, 438 Madison St., loaded bottles into a cart and left the store out the service entrance, which leads to an alley. Suspects were last seen pushing the cart westbound in that alley.
An estimated $3,000 was reported stolen Nov. 4 when someone pried off the lock on the rear door of Valeteria Cleaners, 6407 W. North Ave., and removed the cash from the register.
Burglary from auto
A gym bag containing yoga pants and underwear was reported stolen Nov. 11 from a locked Nissan Versa parked in the 100 block of South Oak Park Avenue. Estimated loss was $100.
A Sirius XM car radio receiver and cash were reported stolen Nov. 8 from a 1998 Lexus and a 2002 Ford F15 pickup parked in the 1200 block of Edmer Avenue. Estimated loss was $210.
A sweater was reported stolen Nov. 8 from an unlocked 2005 Mazda 3 parked in the 400 block of South Oak Park Avenue. Estimated loss was $30.
Burglary to auto
The interior was reported ransacked in an unlocked 2017 Jeep Cherokee parked in the 200 block of South Maple Avenue.
A safe containing a 9mm Taurus 905 handgun and ammunition was reported stolen from a Honda Odyssey parked in the garage of a home in the 200 block of North Harvey Avenue on Nov. 7. Entry was gained by someone who used a coat hanger to get into a Honda CRV and used the garage door opener in the car to get into the locked garage and then the van. Estimated loss was $790.
Burglary to garage
Two bicycles were reported stolen Nov. 7 from the garage of a home in the 100 block of South Taylor Avenue. Entry was gained through an open overhead door. Estimated loss was $789.47.
Criminal trespass
The interior of a 2016 Toyota RAV4 parked in the 00 block of Harvard Street on Oct. 25 was ransacked; nothing was taken.
Retail theft
A man on Nov. 7 walked out of Old Navy, 417 N. Harlem Ave., with various items he’d hidden in a suitcase. Estimated loss was $142.93.
Five bottles of alcohol were reported stolen Nov. 5 when someone walked into Jewel-Osco, 438 Madison St., put the items inside his jacket and left the scene in an Oldsmobile Alero. Estimated loss was $250.
Theft
An iPhone 12 was reported stolen Nov. 7 from the side coat pocket of a customer at Jewel-Osco, 7036 Roosevelt Rd. Estimated loss was $1,250.
An iPhone on Nov. 6 was reported stolen from the hand of a person at Stevenson Park, 49 Lake St.
A package containing clothing was reported stolen Nov. 5 from the front vestibule of a building in the 300 block of Home Avenue. Estimated loss was $50.
Three circular agency signs were reported stolen Oct. 1 from the front window of the Madison Street Theater, 1010 Madison St. Estimated loss was $120.
Theft from auto
A catalytic converter on Nov. 10 was reported stolen from a 2017 Chevy cargo van parked in the 1000 block of Randolph Street.
A catalytic converter on Nov. 9 was reported stolen from a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander parked in the 700 block of North Humphrey Avenue.
A catalytic converter on Nov. 8 was taken from a 2009 Toyota Prius parked in the 500 block of South Boulevard.
A front and rear license plate were reported stolen Nov. 8 from a 2019 Nissan Sentra parked at Enterprise Rental, 25 Chicago Ave.
A catalytic converter was reported stolen Nov. 8 from a 2015 Nissan NV200 parked in the village lot in the 100 block of South Kenilworth Avenue. Estimated loss was $3,000.
A catalytic converter was reported stolen Nov. 4 from a 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander parked in the 1000 block of Randolph Street. Estimated loss was $2,000.
